Our story
Built from experience. Not theory.
Builder Standard did not start in a software office. It started on site. Our founder ran a building company, pricing work, agreeing contracts, managing variations, dealing with Building Control, coordinating subcontractors, handing over finished projects and, occasionally, sorting out disputes that should never have happened.
The pattern was always the same. The arguments were rarely about workmanship. They were about what had been agreed, what had been changed, what had been paid for and what had actually been recorded. Good contractors lost money and sleep because the paperwork behind excellent work was thin.
The other half of the problem sits with homeowners. Before work starts, a reputable contractor and a poor operator can look almost identical, same website, same confident quote, same promises. There has never been a straightforward way to tell them apart on evidence.
Builder Standard exists to close that gap: a published independent standard, a transparent score, a documented record of every project, and verification that has to be earned rather than bought.
