Is Builder Standard a government scheme?
No. Builder Standard is a private, independent platform. It is not a government body, statutory regulator or government-endorsed scheme, and it cannot register, certify or accredit you for any government scheme.
What is the Builder Standard Score?
The Builder Standard Score is a free, proprietary self-assessment out of 100 across contracts, payments, records, customer care and insurance. It takes about two minutes and gives an instant result with a breakdown of strengths and gaps. It is an independent assessment, not a government or regulatory rating.
How much does Builder Standard cost?
The assessment and a 15-minute standards review are free. A full Professional Standards Audit is £295 one-off, done-for-you setup starts from £995, and monthly membership starts from £49 a month with no long-term contract.
Can homeowners check a builder?
Yes. Customers can use Check A Builder to look up a contractor's Builder Standard ID, verification status, score band and Project Passport count before hiring them.
